Welcome to UWIB Monthly Blog Hop!
Every 4th Sunday

This month’s theme is -Something Green -
My entry is

www.etsy.com/listing/68985007/green-is-life-feng-shui-necklace-with

Abundant in nature, green is also the feng shui color of:

  • fresh energy

  • new beginnings

  • healing

  • growth

  • renewal

Using my knowledge of feng shui, I included green leaves which is reminiscent of Spring. As I was creating this necklace for our "Going Green" Blog Hop, it was important to me to have several different shades in order to maximize the feng shui energy effects. There are literally hundreds of greens to choose from. From fresh spring color of the newly opened leaves to the strong green of a mighty oak tree.

The color green is also very nourishing to your health, as it calms your nerves and balances your whole body by bringing healing feng shui vibrations from Mother Nature. Wearing this necklace can bring balance, harmony and stability.

Sit back, grab a cup of coffee
and
wow over the "green" creations
of the talented UWIB Ladies!

Enjoy yourself
and please leave a comment.

We love to read how we are doing!

Featured Artist:
Linda of Ciaobela

A note from Linda~Artist, Designer

"I love birch trees. Love. This sculptural enameled piece reflects my love of the cerulean blue sky seen through black and white birch tree trunks.

There are probably about 20 firings involved in a piece this size and of this complexity. Maybe you know, but each time you have to fire an enamel piece you have to counter fire (on the back) so the piece doesn't warp. Tricky, let me tell you!

The brilliant blue sky was done first, then the tree trunks in white enamel, with hand painting in black, using a tiny japanese watercolor brush, to give the tree trunks their fabulous birch tree black and white patterns. The small imperfections in the enamel surface just add to the handmade feeling.

Once I finished the piece, I trimmed out the two corners with handmade copper birch leaves in clusters. They have patina applied, and will turn a lovely greenish blue over time, as copper does. Some of them move, some are fixed. I used illustrations of real birch leaves as my patterns.

This piece measures 6" wide by 9" tall.
It comes with a black iron easel for display. Pics coming of the easel. I was so excited to list this piece, another one I had a hard time parting with, but it needs a good home."

Please take a moment and browse Linda's shop.

Linda's work is breathtaking!

Have a GREAT day!

Description:
This ring was inspired by the seashore at East Hampton. Can you visualize the curls of the waves at the bottom, tumbling into disarray at the top of the ring? I watched the waves reform and tumble, a different formation each time. Mesmerizing!

This is a sterling silver band ring, which can be adjusted from sizes 7 to 9 (it's currently at a size 8) with a little squeeze or pull.

Steel brushed finish, under 1/2 inch wide. A "one of a kind" statement ring! The curls of the waves are not fragile at all, since it was hand sawn from 16 g silver.

While I was making my Christmas wish list, I discovered the most intriquing shop on Etsy. Not only is the shop intriguing, but so is the creator/designer. Grab a cup of coffee or tea, get snuggled up in a comfy chair and enjoy the journey....
PS: Be sure to say "Happy Birthday" while you are here! (December, 11)
WABI BROOK STUDIO

Embrace your love of the land with nature-inspired,
eco-friendly, fine art and artisan jewelery from Wabi Brook Studio. Indulge your individuality with hand-crafted designs which
reflect the beautifully simple organic shapes and colors of nature. Many pieces are one-of-a-kind, or made in limited editions.

Each piece is created in respectful celebration of our
wonderful planet and the creatures that live on it,
using materials that are
re-claimed, re-cycled, vintage
or fair-trade wherever possible. Every item is carefully wrapped in packaging made from recycled/recyclable products.

Wabi Brook Studio welcomes creative collaboration!
Whether it is jewelery to co-ordinate with an outfit
or a portrait of a special animal,
the resulting custom item will be uniquely yours!

A note from Julie:

I am a mostly self-taught artist, wife, mother, (mostly) retired equestrian trainer/coach, menagerie manager, metal worker, paint pusher, chief cook and bottle washer, earth child, student of life, photographer. My whole family are shutterbugs. From time to time, their work will also feature in my shop.

I create intuitively, beginning with the end in mind, but never knowing the route I will take, or even if I will end up where originally planned. My creative process is often tortuous, sometimes free flowing, always interesting. I love what I do. I play with fire, hit things really hard, throw paint around - and no-one tells me to stop! It doesn’t get any better than this.
I care about every piece I create. I want my work to celebrate both nature and humanity without compromising either, and not be just a handcrafted alternative to the mass-market, sweatshop-manufactured culture we live in. Therefore, wherever possible, I use recycled/reclaimed/vintage /free trade materials in my work, and packaging made from recycled/recyclable products. All my jewelery is hand-made, by me, one at a time and in very limited editions. Many pieces are one of a kind. Ditto for my artwork. I create and sell original pieces of art, and also sell professionally made limited-edition giclee prints of many of those works.
